On September 17th and 18th, 2013, the Forward partnership met in Vilnius (Lithuania) and was able to visit the offices of the Women’s issues information centre.

The meeting was the oportunity to present and discuss the final versions of the Forward Handbook and Toolbox in English and in all partner languages, and share the results of the validation of the methodology by the National Strategic Advisory Groups in each country.

Partners also shared the experiences and plans of the capacity-building workshops and discuss the feedback provided by participants and trainers on the Forward materials. Capacity building workshops had taken place in Austria, Italy, Lithuania, Finland and Spain, and in Romania they will be carried out just before the national conference.

The capacity-building workshops proved the interest of professionals working with migrant women in different areas (occupational integration, gender equality, intercultural and community action programmes, etc.) to put into practice the Forward materials.

The meeting gave also the opportunity to discuss in detail the dissemination, mainstreaming and multiplication tasks to be carried out for the rest of the project, in order to maximise the impact of the Forward methodology and materials. The Forward leaflet, presenting the project results, was presented.

Plans for national conferences in September, October and November were shared and the partnership also agreed on the final programme of the European conference, which will be held in Rome in November 29th.
